Aliens: Dark Descent challenges us to recruit and level up a squad of Colonial Marines as we explore the dangerous planet. Check out the first Aliens: Dark Descent gameplay trailer, announcing that the real-time tactical action game will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on June 20, 2023. This furry feline is likely a nod to Jones, the cat from Alien. Those who purchase the $39.99 game on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, or PC before June 20 get the Lethe Recon Pack which comes with black armor for the player’s squad and a unique cat companion. The pre-order options were strangely not in this pre-order trailer, but Focus did list the pre-order incentives on its website. As for story, Aliens: Dark Descent tells the story of a Colonial Marines detachment whose ship has crashed into Planet Lethe (root word of lethal, btw) and, why not, investigate a Xenomorph. As the title suggests, the game is set in the Alienuniverse, more specifically tinted towards James Cameron’s action-based take on Aliens (1986) where players take on the role of a group of colonial marines trying to escape from a colony overrun by the titular aliens. In Aliens: Dark Descent, command a squad of hardened Colonial Marines to stop a terrifying Xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe.Lead your soldiers in real-time combat against iconic Xenomorphs, rogue. They appear to be at the center of a story about smuggling creatures, but it was all rather vague, so there’s still likely plenty to uncover.
